As a serious athlete I know the commitment it takes to get better. Being new to triathlon, I didn't know the details - like how to set a daily training program within a year-long, race-focused strategy. Melissa provides that strategic knowledge, the hands-on daily training, and the important technical skills that raised me from a top 5 age grouper to a series champion. Winning (i.e. Melissa) is totally worth it!
Through her coaching and guidance Melissa has been a valuable resource in my development as a triathlete. She has spent years at the top of the sport, both as a coach and an athlete. Her experience is evident. Melissa is a dedicated triathlon coach who is well informed and committed to the development of her athletes.
For my first few years competing in triathlon, I managed to finish near the top of my age group in local races and in the top half of my age group at USAT Nationals. Since 2003, I have qualified for 3 Team USA slots, 4 USAT All-American honors, and have finished in the Top 25% of my age group at ITU Worlds three years in a row. The difference has been my coaching relationship with Melissa Mantak. I can highly recommend her coaching services for anyone looking to significantly improve their results!
Melissa, I have to thank you for being such an amazing coach. You have taken me to a level I didn't believe was obtainable. You believe in me, support me, encourage me and most importantly... understand me. You have been my anchor that was much needed.
The year before I started working with Melissa I had trained and trained for the Sea to Summit Race. It took me 9 hours and 30 minutes. The next year with her help and my hard work I finished it in 6 hours 18 minutes. I couldn't believe it. Since then I finished the Solvang Double Century with a riding time of 9hours 40 minutes. What can I say? I turn 53 in one more day and I am hoping to do the Solvang Double even faster this year. She is the best in my book.

Melissa has been excellent in assisting me in achieving all my goals. Last year I was able to compete at both the age group worlds for triathlon and aquathlon. In addition, I was able to take off up to 10 minutes off some of my sprint times from the year before and up to 18 minutes of my Olympic distance times. The results speak for themselves.
I have been working with Melissa since 2004. After being a self-coached athlete for several years I wanted to take my training and racing to the next level. Since I started working with Melissa I have continued to improve each year as well as train more efficiently and race smarter. She brings a lot of experience to her coaching, tailors my workouts to peak for my goal races, while making changes to account for other demands like work and family, and offers support or tough love when needed. With Melissa's help, I know I will continue to set PR's and live a healthy lifestyle.
I need a no nonsense coach who also knew when to be patient. Melissa
has given me what I was looking for. Tough Love. That's what Melissa gives me. With her, my potential is endless.
Melissa Mantak has been my coach for 4 years. She is, by far, the best coach I have ever had in my 47 years as an athlete. I was a swimmer as a child and took up triathlons in my mid 30's. I have never had a coach who was concerned both about my physical performance, but was also genuinely concerned about my spiritual, emotional, and physical health. That attribute of Melissa's makes her invaluable as a coach, a friend, a mentor. I am truly honored to know her.
Melissa became my coach in early 2006 when I decided to race Ironman Canada. As I work full-time, I needed a coach who is flexible and understanding with my scheduling, yet tough when my motivation wanes (which it inevitably does at times). Through carefully planned periodization, program structure and meetings, Melissa helped me acheive - no, EXCEED! - my goal at IM Canada. I knew I had all the training and mental preparation I needed to put together a great race. Now, Melissa is helping me prepare for two Ironman races in 2007!
